SMITH, James W., Kirkwood, MO, April 21, 2007 age 72; dear son of Euna Smith (nee: Rawls) and the late James Oatis Smith; Life Partner of Julie Bemis; devoted father of David Thompson (Akemi), Sharon Smith, Kathy Collins, Jamie VanValin (Steve) and Matthew Smith; beloved grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 4; dear brother of Edward Smith (Betty) and the late Genelda Smith. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Smith was a Sergeant in the Clayton Police Department and retired after 27 years of service. He then worked for Grey Eagle Distributors in Maryland Heights for 13 years.
