James Norman Volkman

James Norman Volkman, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Donna Volkman; cherished son of the late Ben and Norma Ovidia Volkman; devoted father of Jay Howard (Marsha) Volkman; loving grandfather of Riley Volkman, Mackenna (Adam) Darnell, Jojo (Mason) Petrov, and Jasi Volkman; treasured great grandfather of 5; and dear brother of the late Frederick Volkman.

James was a proud Air Force veteran and a founding member of Healing Waters in St. Louis, an organization dedicated to introducing and educating veterans on fly fishing as therapy for PTSD. An avid fisherman and hunter, he was especially passionate about fly fishing and archery, often gathering with his archery club in Albuquerque. James lived by the mantra, “Every day is a blessing,” and enjoyed playing tennis recreationally, eventually competing in the Senior Olympics in South Carolina. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
