Templeton, James E., of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026, at the age of 69 following a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Beloved brother to Alan (Bonnie) Templeton and sister-in-law Rose Templeton; uncle to seven nieces and nephews, dear cousin to the extended Templeton-McCormick family; and a great friend to many.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John S. and Lois Templeton, and his brother John F. Templeton.
Jim graduated from St. Charles High School. He proudly worked for McDonnell Douglas / Boeing for more than 40 years. He worked on the circuitry and software for several jet-fighter programs. His skill in these areas led to extended stays in Israel and Japan when McDonnel Douglas/Boeing fighters were sold to those countries. He loved to recount stories of these overseas adventures.
He always had a mechanical mind and loved to tinker with electronics, especially music sound systems. He was a licensed HAM radio operator and actively participated in the local amateur radio operators club for many decades. From an early age, he loved camping and hiking, especially in the Rocky Mountains. He was also an avid photographer. Mostly he was known for his love of classic rock music. In the summertime, he was a regular attendee at Music on Main.
For the past decade, he found the greatest joy on his "farm" in Lincoln County enjoying music and cookouts with his neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his name to the Rocky Mountain Conservancy.
