James Edward Swanson Sr.

James Edward “Jim” Swanson Sr., of Wright City, MO, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the age of 56. Cherished son of the late Marvin Lawrence and Jane Margaret Swanson; devoted father of Ashley (Scott) Swanson, James "Jimmy" Swanson, Jr., and Joseph "Joey" Swanson; loving grandfather of Marilyn Swanson, Robert Riesenbeck, Noah Swanson, and Grayson Swanson; dear brother of Richard "Rick" Swanson and Adella Swanson; treasured uncle of Megan Swanson, Richard "Ricky" Swanson, Jr., and Andrew Olney.

Jim was a man of many talents who embraced life with enthusiasm and warmth. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, and skiing with his children, and he enjoyed vacationing and traveling. An aviation enthusiast with a passion for collecting various treasures, Jim was also a sociable soul who never met a stranger. Known for his quick wit and love of joking, he was always ready to lend a helping hand and carried himself with a calm, collected, and kindhearted spirit. Above all, Jim loved his family more than anything and was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
