James Marvin Stieber

James Marvin Stieber of Hilo, HI, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at the age of 73. Devoted son of the late Marvin and Georgia Stieber; dear brother of Mike Stieber, Carol (Dave) Ackerman, and Mary (Glen) Tucker; loving uncle and great-uncle to many. James was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerry and Pat Stieber.

James was a kind, loving, and generous man; the very embodiment of the phrase “he would give you the shirt off his back.” Always giving more than he took, James lived a life rooted in faith, which was central to who he was. Deeply involved in his church, he could often be found volunteering and serving others, selflessly offering support no matter the circumstances in his own life. His high spirits and resilient nature made him a joy to be around, and very little could dampen his positivity. James was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
