James Pennington

September 12, 1950 — April 29, 2024

Osage Beach, Missouri

James Michael Pennington, of Osage Beach, MO, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at the age of 73. Cherished son of the late John and Dorothy Pennington; dear brother of the late Joan Fischer, Mary (Mike) Parmer, the late Paul (Diana) Pennington, Judy (John) Buback, Carol (Troy) Wright, Roger Pennington, John (Victoria) Pennington and the late Joseph Pennington; treasured uncle of Nathan, Matt, Nick, Jared, Thomas, Austin, Nicholas, Jay, Melissa, Courtney, Kasey, Emily, Jodi and Scott; loving great-uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many.

Jim received his education in the St. Louis Special School District attending elementary grades at the Ackerman School and graduating from Northview High School, Florissant, Missouri. After graduation, Jim took his first job at the Florissant Valley Sheltered Workshop. After moving with the family to Lake St. Louis in 1986, Jim’s career began with the Boone Center where he contributed as a most valued employee for 30+ years. He was very proud of his accomplishments with the Boone Center family, most notably helping them improve efficiency on many of their assembly lines and helping fellow employees to do their best.   After retiring from the Boone Center, Jim assumed his most important role as “general manager and CEO” of all things needed in the operations of the Pennington household.

Jim was always happiest being with his brothers and sisters. He also enjoyed many hobbies and interests. On the Frostwood Swimming Team, he was named Most Valuable Swimmer for his speedy breaststroke and backstroke races. Jim was a passionate Cardinals fan and loved fishing with anyone who would take him.  Jim loved all the old Western movies and cowboy songs.

Jim’s brothers and sisters, his nieces and nephews always loved Jim as the special gift he was to our family.  We loved him so much and he will always and forever be our family treasure.

Memorials may be made in James's name to American Cancer Society.
