James C. Michaels

James Courtney Michaels, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Ann Michaels; cherished son of the late Ruth Friberg; devoted father of Sherrill (Roy) Schuster, Gayle Michaels, and Brian (Tori) Michaels; loving grandfather of 9; dearest great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

James was a proud Army veteran and lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW who was honored to serve his country. He was also a member of the Projectionist Union and worked for McDonnell Douglas. James loved fishing, bowling, and playing cards, often spending hours at the table with his family. An avid traveler, he especially enjoyed road trips and embraced every minute of the journeys he took. Straightforward and funny, he was very sociable and cherished time with friends and family. Sunday dinners with his family were very special to him. Above all, James was deeply proud of his family and the life he and his wife, Shirley, built side by side.

James was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
