James D. Brown

Brown, James D., of Defiance, Missouri, died on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the age of 68. Dear son of the late James E. and Hazel B. Brown; loving husband of Sheila Zuk-Brown; devoted father of Cory Brown, Jessica (Thomas) Doyle, Josh Brown, Melissa Brown, Angela Brown, Mark Scott Brown, Theresa Parkin, Alexis Brown, and the late Sean Patrick Brown and granddaughter Raven Brown; cherished grandfather of Christopher, Mikey, Anna, Chase, Jacob, Danielle, Nikki, Autumn, Rocco, and the late Raven Brown; and dear cousin of Gary Ellis and Glenn Ellis. James graduated from St. Louis Police Academy and went to work for the St. Louis Airport Police. Following that, he went on to the Maplewood Police Department for 35 years. He also proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed greatly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
