James "Jim" Wesley Agnew, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the age of 88. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy Ann (Rich) Baker; son, Michael (Masako Onodera) Agnew; grandchildren, Brian (Theresa) Baker and Brent Baker; great-grandchildren, Kate, Carly, Natalie, Lilly, Harrison, and Savannah Baker; sister, Melba Taylor; brother, Gerald (Jill) Agnew; and sister, Nancy Valentine. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Patricia Ann Agnew; father, George Wesley Agnew; mother, Thelma Fern Agnew; and brother, Albert Agnew.
Jim was a longtime Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 742, where he mentored many young scouts over the years. He worked at McDonnell Douglas for many years and was the captain of the golf team there. A true outdoorsman, he cherished family camping trips and the many memories made along the way. Raised on a farm, he carried with him a strong work ethic and spent his life tending to gardens and working with his hands. He shared a love for ballroom dancing and antiquing with his wife Pat, spending weekends treasure hunting and refinishing their finds. Jim also enjoyed collecting, especially duck calls and unique items—whether or not he knew their purpose—but his favorite collection was of nutcrackers. Jim was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
