Jacquelyn H. Whitworth, 83, of O'Fallon, MO, died June 22, 2022 with family by her side. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, William Dean Whitworth, after a marriage of 51 years. She is survived by her children Craig (Kimberley) Whitworth of St. Charles, MO; and Corey (Lisa) Whitworth of Kansas City, MO. She was the proud grandmother of Bryce, Bailey, Oliver and Everett Whitworth. She was the dear sister of George (Sally) Hawker of Hunnewell, MO, as well as a loved aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Jacquelyn was born in Shelbina, MO, to Harry "Jack" and Doris Hawker. She graduated from Monroe City High School (1956), Central Methodist University (1961) with a degree in education, and from the University of Missouri-St. Louis (1969) with a Master of Education degree. Jacquelyn taught second grade for the Pattonville School District for 5 years before leaving to raise her family. Throughout her years she championed the value of education through her encouragement and gifts to her grandchildren as well as educational institutions. She herself was a lifelong learner.

Throughout her life, Jacquelyn enjoyed many activities and interests including travel, painting, photography, calligraphy, bowling, reading, watching ice skating and playing piano. She had a special talent for gardening and enjoyed the beauty flowers brought to the world. Jacquelyn also volunteered for local historical societies and served as a docent for the Payne-Gentry House in Bridgeton, MO and the Heald Home in O'Fallon, MO. But by far, her favorite activity was spending time with her many friends and being with family.

She was an active member of Arlington United Methodist Church (Bridgeton, MO) and Cornerstone United Methodist Church (O'Fallon, MO).

Memorials may be sent to Cornerstone UMC, Shiloh Christian Children's Ranch, Central Methodist University or a charity of the donor's choice.
