Jacqueline Gertrude Saunders (nee Kettler), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Saunders; cherished daughter of the late Harry and Henrietta Kettler; devoted mother of Karen (Gary) Schoenle and William "Bill" (Karen) Saunders; loving grandmother of Brian Schoenle; proceeded in death by her dear siblings Melba Wilhelm, Verda Feckter, Harry Kettler, Gladys Morgan, and Gloria Kettler. Jackie was a dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Jackie enjoyed knitting and sewing patchwork blankets, often creating special pieces for those she loved along with numerous donations to Project Linus. Jackie was nationally recognized as Volunteer of the Year for her countless hours volunteering for Emmaus Homes. She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, and was known for her warm, social spirit that could make everyone around her smile. Jackie loved joking with her friends and with those around her at Mt. Carmel Senior Living, where she formed many meaningful connections and friendships. She especially cherished family gatherings and celebrating holidays surrounded by the people she loved most.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers at Mt. Carmel for the love and care they provided over the past 9 years. Jackie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
