Jack Wilbur Shields

Jack W. Shields, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the age of 91. Loving husband of Arletta Shields; beloved son of the late Thurman and Violet Shields; devoted father of Jeanne Gach, Vicki (Randall) Lenssen, Sandra Skinner, and the late Jack “JJ” Shields, Jr.; cherished grandfather of Shawn, Wendrew, the late Kim, Melanie, Jennifer; treasured great-grandfather of 11; loving uncle, relative and friend to many. Jack is also preceded in death by his brother Tom (Alice) Shields.

Jack served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years. He was stationed in Whidbey Island. Jack spent most of his life as a contractor, building houses in the states of California and Washington. He loved to work and was very good with his hands. He enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors working in the garden, taking care of his yard, boating, fishing and crabbing. Jack had an RV and loved to travel. Jack spent time in an RV club and traveled to Arizona every year. Jack loved his family and as of July 2021, Jack and Arletta celebrated 70 years of marriage. Jack was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
