Irene Mathilda Roloff (nee Zimmerschied), of St. Charles, Missouri, died January 17, 2018 of influenza at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was predeceased by Oscar, her husband of 61 years; her siblings, Lawrence, Edwin, Gertrude, and Gladys; and daughter-in-law, Monta. She is survived by her children, Wayne Roloff, Nannette (Marc) Stine, and Dan (Celeste) Roloff; as well as five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and her two constant companions, pets Abby and Lucy.
Irene was raised on a farm in Mora, Missouri and had always had a garden, growing her own organic food and keeping up on the latest health news. She enjoyed her profession as a hair dresser for many years, and kept busy with quilting, craft projects, reading, and exercise. She loved attending her jazzercise classes until the age of 93 and she was active and mobile up until the end of her life.
She will be remembered for her high-spirited, energetic personality, sense of humor, fashion sense, artistic ability, and the way she drove her Camaro, which sometimes resulted in speeding tickets. She was always ready with a quick comeback and a sassy comment. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and family members.
