Howard Salby Schide

Howard Salby Schide, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Catherine Schide; cherished son of the late Bessie and Emmett Schide; devoted father of Pam (Greg) New; devoted step-father of Guy (Karen) Olsen and Jeff (Victoria) Olsen; loving grandfather of Thomas (Ashland) New, Margaret (Will) Fisher, Jessica Olsen, Courtney Olsen, Kaitlyn (Antonio) LaRocca, Andrew Olsen, Chase Olsen, Alex Olsen; treasured great grandfather of Bennett, Hutton, and Eleanor; dear brother of Nancy Wright and preceded in death by his siblings Emmett, Paul, and Margaret Schide.

Howard was married to his beloved Catherine for 41 wonderful years. He proudly and honorably served in the United States Airforce for 4 years before starting his lifelong career as an engineer at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing. Howard enjoyed many hobbies, such as woodworking, fishing, and hunting. He did volunteer work at multiple churches and, most of all, loved being "Papa Howie" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Howard was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
