Pieper, Jr., Henry W. “Hank”, of St. Charles, MO, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at the age of 87. Loving husband of 62 years to Marilyn Pieper; beloved son of the late Henry Sr. and Lucille Pieper; devoted father of Vicki (Phil) Krupa, Hank (Rhonda) Pieper, Mary Lynne (Tom) Roseberry, Bob Pieper, Sally (Joe) Glosier, Amy Grimes, and Wendy (Moe) Meagher; loving grandfather of Melissa, Brittany, Samantha, Bonnie, Melanie, Leslie, Tommy, Todd, Savannah, Tyson, Tony, Jessica, Grady, and Madelyn; great-grandfather of nine and two on the way.
Proud alumnus of St. Louis U High, St. Louis U and Washington U. Hank proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from McDonnell Douglas after 35 years.
Hank was a lifelong member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he served in a financial capacity for decades. He loved all sports, especially college football. He was also an outstanding baseball player. Hank was the starting shortstop for St. Louis U his junior and senior years. In 1993, he was inducted into the St. Charles County Amateur Sports Hall of Fame. He was also an active member of the St. Charles Junior Baseball Association for many years.
