Helen Janet Cassatt

Helen Janet Cassatt (nee Heil), of O'Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the age of 82. Cherished daughter of the late George and Helen Heil; devoted mother of the late Debra (Larry Schwentker survives) Kenny, Donna (Mark) File, Helen (Kyle) Honerkamp and Tisha Skibinski; loving grandmother of Brent, Mark (Amanda), Kristina, Sarah (Ken), Danielle (Greg), Jordan, and Ryan; cherished great grandmother of Joey, Calvin, Hailey, Mason, Kylie, Logan, Allison, Emma, Kali, Parker and Payton and soon to be great-great grandmother; dear sister of Richard (The late Claudette) Heil, Dennis Heil, the late Robert "Steve" Heil, the late William (Jo Survives) Heil, Dorothy (Tom) Simpson, and the late Mary Myers. Helen was also an aunt to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as a cousin, and friend to many.

Helen was a woman of deep devotion and generous spirit, whose life was defined by her love for others and her many passions. She was an active participant in PSR and a devoted member of Immaculate Conception of Dardenne, where she faithfully contributed to their luncheons and community life. Helen earned a degree in culinary arts and worked as a chef, a calling that reflected her love of caring for others through food. She dedicated more than 40 years of service to BJC Health Systems, and worked at O’Fallon Bowl, Frontier Lanes, and Main Street Diner, forming lasting connections wherever she went. She was especially delighted to care for those around her, sharing meals and memories. Above all, Helen cherished time spent with her family and was a proud and enthusiastic Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Dearly loved, Helen will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Helen's name to Mid America Transplant.
