Harrold Orran Nicholl, known lovingly as Harry, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025.
Harry was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and immigrated to the United States in 1974, leaving behind the Troubles that marked that time.
For 50 years, Harry was the loving husband of Kim McNaughten Nicholl. Together they shared a marriage full of humor and devotion to each other. He was a proud father to two sons, Ronald Nicholl (Shelby) and Paul Nicholl (Heather), who carry forward his values of hard work, loyalty, and devotion to family.
As a grandfather, Harry’s love knew no bounds. He delighted in being part of his grandchildren’s lives - helping with schoolwork, cheering at sporting events, and applauding at every school and musical performance. He leaves cherished memories for Patrick Nicholl (Kat), Colin Nicholl, Nathan Nicholl, Jay Shire, and Declan Nicholl. He was so proud to be the great-grandfather of Jasper Nicholl, son of Patrick.
Harry retired early and spent many days walking or cycling at Creve Coeur Lake, accompanied by his favorite dog Scout.
Harry is survived by his sister Jennifer Nicholl Bannister and his brother Stewart Nicholl, both from Belfast. He was preceded in death by parents John and Joan Nicholl.
To know Harry was to know someone who showed up—with his steady presence, his encouragement, and his Irish humor that brightened every room. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who were fortunate to know him.
