Harold V. Herweck

Harold (Hal) Virgil Herweck of St. Charles passed away on December 31, 2008. He was 85. Mr. Herweck was born in St. Louis in 1923. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 until the end of World War II. He married LaVerne Falter in 1943 and they reared three children, Hal Jr., Sue and Kirk. He was the owner of Dr. Clock's Shoppe from 1981-1988. For over 40 years he led the music at Calvary Baptist Church and Overland Baptist Church. He was named Deacon Emritus at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in 2007. Mr. Herweck was preceded in death by his parents, George and Hulda Herweck, and three brothers, Lester, Everett, and Melvin. He leaves his loving wife of 65 years, LaVerne, his three children and their spouses, Hal and Nancy Herweck of O'Fallon, and Sue and John Smith and Kirk and Wendy Herweck of St. Charles; 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
