Harlin Rudolph Hoelscher son of John and Emma (nee: Barkau) Hoelscher was born September 20, 1920 in Washington County Illinois, was baptized at St. Peter Church in Stone Church Illinois, attended school and was confirmed at St. John's in Plum Hill, Illinois. Confirmation verse Psalm 86:11, Teach me thy way Lord I will walk in thy truth, unite my heart to fear thy name. In October 1947, Harlin married Dorothy L. Hoelscher who preceded him in death in 2003. Devoted father of Kathy (Skip) Huls, Judy H. Arnold, Dr. John (Barbara) Hoelscher and Patty (Steve) Knight; cherished grandfather of Jason (Alisha) Huls, Justin (Ellen) Huls, Nathan Arnold, Steve Knight, Jr., Erika (Dan) Cohn, Ryan Knight, Meagan Arnold, Carrie Hoelscher, Jack (Kelli) Hoelscher and Mandy Knight; treasured great-grandfather of Austin, Logan and Sylvia Huls. Harlin was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Member Voters, Men's Club, Counting Board and Usher. Member of American Legion Post #312 and Retirees Club. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2866 in St. Charles, served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946 in Africa, Burma, India and China, Theater of Operations. Employed at St. Louis Die Casting Corporation for 40 years as Vice President and Division Manager. He was a member of the Engineering Club and American Association of Industrial Management, Lyon's club and Rotary in Keokuk, Iowa.
