Griesenauer, Glennon A., O Fallon, Missouri, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Saturday, August 14, 2010. Born February 19, 1920. Husband of Helen Ohlms; father of Mary Ann (Glen) Hunter; grandfather of Tanya (Joe) Goitia, Casey (Daniel) Ruiz, and Kenneth (Wendy) Hunter; great-grandfather of Ariana, Alyssa, Jacob, and Ava Ruiz, Colin and Carlie Hunter, and Christine Goitia; brother of Edward, Jim and Ralph Griesenauer; brother-in-law, and uncle. Preceded in death by Bettye Griesenauer, his wife of 63 years, and brothers Maurice, Gerald (Chuck), Kenneth, and William Griesenauer. Glennon was extremely proud of his service as a First Lieutenant in World War II from 1943 – 1946. He started his army career in the Army Corp of Engineers in the European Theater of Operations. He was a charter member and a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 2269 in O’Fallon and was a founding member of the St. Charles St. Philippine Duchesne 4th degree Assembly in 1954. He belonged to VFW Post # 5077 and the American Legion. Glennon was a member of the O’Fallon Volunteer Fire Department. He and his brothers owned and operated the original O’Fallon Garage. In addition to servicing cars they also sold and repaired Massey Ferguson farm machinery and had the local wrecker service. Please consider memorial masses or contributions to St. Vincent DePaul.
