Glenn E. Koenen

Koenen, 80, of St. Charles, died early on Monday, August 3, 2009 after a long battle with bone cancer. Mr. Koenen was a field investigator for Retail Credit in St. Louis before joining State Farm Insurance as a claims adjustor in 1957. Over the next 35 years he handled auto claims in St. Charles, Warren, Lincoln, Franklin and St. Louis counties. He retired from State Farm in 1992. Mr. Koenen was born in St. Louis, the third child of Katherine and Anton Koenen. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, John J. Koenen of St. Louis and his sister Marie Koenen Kercheval of St. Charles. Mr. Koenen is survived by his wife of almost 54 years Patricia Harvey Koenen, by his daughter Marianne Koenen Grove and son-in-law Steve Grove of St. Charles, his son Glenn M. Koenen and daughter-in-law Peggy Heckman Koenen of St. Louis and by his son Edward A. Koenen and daughter-in-law Dawn Weaver Koenen of St. Peters, as well as by his granddaughter Cassaundra M. Koenen of St. Louis and his step grandsons Zach and Keith Haselhorst of Trenton, Illinois.
