Glen J. Gettemeyer

Glen J. Gettemeyer, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Joan M. Gettemeyer; cherished son of the late Gerald and Catherine Gettemeyer; devoted father of John T., Catherine A., Elizabeth M.; preceded in death by brother Tom, uncle John "Jack" Gettemeyer, and 7 aunts; loving uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Glen enjoyed tending to his cattle, chickens, and geese; as well as his fields of wheat, corn, and soybeans. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America, St. Peters Farmer's Cooperative, Soil and Water Conservation, Dardenne Levee District, and Farm Bureau.

Glen served as a volunteer firefighter with St. Peters Fire Department and was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Glen enjoyed classic cars and was a member of National Street Rod Association and Rod Benders car club.

Glen enjoyed reading the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and was a lifelong learner and sharer of wisdom. He was a trivia master, and enjoyed volunteering for school field trips, where he loved inspiring curiosity in children. Glen liked to support life science teachers by providing supplies for hatching baby chickens. He was a distinguished prankster, and fluent in Dad Jokes.

Glen was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Glen's name to Mount Grace Convent (Pink Sisters), St. Vincent de Paul Society of All Saints Catholic Church St. Peters, Siteman Cancer Center, Huntington's Disease Society, or Masses at All Saints Catholic Church.
