Gerald was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He lived a life marked by kindness, quiet wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. His presence was a source of strength, and his love left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

He shared 61 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Leola—a bond rooted in deep affection, resilience, and lifelong devotion.

Loving husband of Leola Hammers; cherished father of John Hammers, Laurie Hammers, and Julie Hammers-Nash; adored grandfather of Asa, Sean, Christina, Marissa, Joseph, and Joshua; and treasured great-grandfather of Aria, Addison, James, Evelyn, Jeremiah, and Isabelle.

A private celebration of Gerald’s life will be held with close family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his honor to a charity of your choice.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
