George Robert Wood Jr.

George Robert Wood of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Shirley Ann Wood; cherished son of the late George Robert Sr. and Nellie Lee Wood; devoted father of Terri (John) LePique;  loving grandfather of Adrian (Brynna) LePique and Keeley (Drew) Philipps; Dearest great grandfather to Charles, Annabelle and Marya. Brother in law to Bill Campbell and Oliver Hensley. He also leaves his cousin and best friend for 80 years, Donald (Billie) Topping. He is preceded in death by his sister Susan Campbell and his In laws Joel and Wilma Hensley. 

George and his beloved wife Shirley were married for 69 years as of September. They shared a love for spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks, especially enjoying boating activities. He owned and operated St. Charles County Tile Company Inc. for 33 years and was a skilled craftsman who could build anything, taking great pleasure in home projects and yard work. Known for being good with his hands, George had a passion for DIY projects, Corvettes, and traveling in RVs, which he and Shirley often did together. A social and friendly man, he had the gift of conversation and could connect with anyone, anywhere. George was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
