George Ellsworth Ilgenfritz, Jr.

George Ellsworth Ilgenfritz Jr., of St. Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the age of 65. Loving husband of Diane Ilgenfritz; He is preceded in death by his mother, Myrna Haake; and his brother, Nicholas "Buck” Ilgenfritz. Devoted father of Guy (Amy) Ilgenfritz, Greg (Melanie) Ilgenfritz, and Jessica (Daniel) Orf; dear brother of Tammy (Roy) Scaggs, Lisa (Steve Hill) Wiechens, Erik (Tracy) Ilgenfritz, Kelly (Mark) Koester; cherished grandfather of Lilly, Elaina, Avery, Claire, Connor, and Luke; and is also survived by numerous friends and family.

George was a devoted member of St. Peter Parish, where he actively participated in fish frys and the Athletic Association. Strong in his faith, he lived a life centered on family, cherishing time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. He had a deep love for music and dancing, enjoyed the outdoors, and was an avid sports fan. George also took great pride in collecting nostalgic and antique treasures. Known for his outgoing nature, he never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. George was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
