Gary Alden Riefle

Gary Alden Riefle, of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the age of 83. Loving husband of Sharon L. Riefle; beloved son of the late Pearl E. and Frank Riefle; devoted father of Terri Fox, Elizabeth (Robert) Adkisson, and James K. Riefle; dear stepfather of Dawn Zehner, and Crystal Halford; cherished grandfather of Heather Fox, Tosha Shinkle, Jamie Fox, Andrew (Kira) Bruning, Heather Bruning, Sabrina Adkisson, Skylar Adkisson, Samuel Riefle, Halley Riefle, Allison Zehner, Brandon Orlando, Colton (Olivia) Orlando, Ethan Hovis, Miranda Hovis, and Morgan Hovis; treasured great grandfather of many; and dearest brother of Vernon Riefle and Ronald Riefle. Gary was preceded in death by his siblings, Louis Resinger, Marlin Resinger, Pearl Spatafora, Gerald Riefle, and Kenneth Riefle. 

Gary retired from the trucking industry after more than 25 years as a truck driver.  He was a charmer and had the kindest heart. He loved to dance and could brighten up any room with his wonderful sense of humor. He loved singing, especially old school country like Johnny Cash, Elvis, and Kenny Rogers. He and his wife sang together all the time, and they spent a lot of days traveling to area nursing homes to sing for the residents. 

Gary and his wife liked to travel to Florida and Arizona during the winter to escape the cold weather. He had a love for cars and raced stock cars at St. Charles Speedway, and he liked to drag race at the Pevely Racetrack. He was very active and enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was fishing, camping, boating, riding dune buggies, or four-wheelers, he always had a good time. 

Gary really enjoyed watching Ghost Hunters, and anything about aliens and the elusive Bigfoot. He could also be found watching the Western channel to catch his favorite Clint Eastwood movies. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Memorials may be made in Gary's name to Five Acres Animal Shelter.
