Gary Carl Hansen, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Catherine M. Hansen; cherished son of the late David and June L. (nee Olstinske) Hansen; devoted father of Erica Hansen and Andrea (Joshua) Schpok; loving grandfather of Giovanni Carl Guzzo-Hansen and Ira Ricky Schpok & Ada Margaret Schpok; dear brother of David (Marion) Hansen; loving uncle, cousin, friend and neighbor.
Gary was a man of deep faith and an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wentzville. His faith and his church community were an important part of his life. He was a devoted member of the Bible Study group and generously gave his time through numerous church volunteer activities. Gary believed in serving others and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He carried that same spirit of devotion into his family life, where he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and caretaker who took great pride in caring for those he loved.
Gary dedicated more than 40 years of his life to the forklift industry, a career he was truly passionate about. Through his work, he made many lifelong friendships and built relationships that meant so much to him. Outside of work, Gary enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golf fan who loved both playing the game and watching it, and he especially enjoyed fishing in Minnesota, where he grew up; a love of fishing that stayed with him throughout his life. Gary had a deep appreciation for good food, a love for music, and could even carry a tune himself. He enjoyed a little late-night television and the laughter that came with good comedy. Above all, Gary believed the best way to move through life was with a smile, and he shared that smile generously with those around him. Gary was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, church community, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Memorials may be made in Gary's name to Lutheran's for Life or Five Acres Animal Shelter.
