Gary Gene Gooden, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Peggy Gooden; son of the late Alfred and Grace Gooden; devoted father of Steve Gooden, and Susan (Steve) Riegerix; loving grandfather of Hannah Gooden, Megan Gooden, Steven Riegerix, Logan Riegerix, and Nora Riegerix; dear brother of Don (Donna) Gooden; loving uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Gary was a proud Army veteran and devoted member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2866. He served as a supervisor for the City of St. Louis Water Department and later stayed active with the Retired Employees of the City of St. Louis, where he was Social Director. Married for 47 years, Gary adored his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved football, poker, bowling, and trips to Clearwater Beach. Talkative and outgoing, he never met a stranger. During his final year at Meadowland Assisted Living, he continued to make friendships. Gary was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Gary's name to Disabled American Veterans.
