Gerard Eugene Boudreau

Gerard, "Gerry" Boudreau, gained his angel wings on Friday, July 24, 2026. He was born on Good Friday, March 23, 1951, and resided in Florissant, Missouri. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church with his family, Catherine and Thomas Boudreau, his siblings, Richard (Marilyn) Boudreau, Theresa (Keith) Schantz, and George (Karen) Boudreau.

During his youth, he acted and resembled Ralphie from the "A Christmas Story" which later became a family favorite Christmas tradition of watching 24 hours straight.

Gerry later attended Prep North High School and then Cardinal Glennon College. He left the seminary after two years, deciding his life's vocation didn't include priesthood. He then met Barb Sullentrup and stole her heart, sweeping her off her feet with his motorcycle and "bad boy" appearance. Gerry also had a short stint being in a boy band called the "Spots." Barb and Gerry wed on May 18, 1974, and Gerry gained a new family, Bill and Ruthie Sullentrup, Greg (Mary) Sullentrup, Mike (Glenda) Sullentrup, Mary Jo (Tom) Sparks, Larry (Sally) Sullentrup, and Gwen (Tim) Mauntel. Barb and Gerry started their family a short time later, to include a daughter and 2 sons: Caroline (Jeremy) Mirth, Tom (Jen) Boudreau, Paul (Katie) Boudreau. Gerry continued his Ralphie antics being a father. Whether it was keeping the children occupied hunting mice in the garage, nerf gun wars, or buying presents for his children that he may have enjoyed more, he was a kid at heart.

After many years in sales, Gerry attended Florissant Valley Community College and graduated with his nursing degree. Gerry spent 20 years working as a medical/surgical nurse at DePaul Hospital. He then found his true calling as a hospice nurse where he spent the next 6 years before retirement. No matter who his patients were, Gerry always showed compassion and empathy to every patient and their families, making an everlasting impact. During his time as a nurse, he perfected his culinary skills and the history of "Gerry's World Famous" began. Some of his most well-loved dishes were his chili, linguini with clam sauce, carbonara, teriyaki chicken, and of course his popcorn!

During his 52 years of marriage to Barb, he developed quirks like having a "secret" candy stash everyone knew about, walking in the kitchen to modify Barb's cooking, or his famous cat shirt.

Gerry considered one of his greatest blessings to be a grandfather. He became Papa to Rylee, Ava, Tristan, Zeke, Emily, Brody, Ryan, and Cas. Gerry once again got to indulge in his shenanigans by buying gifts for the grandkids which, of course, were for his entertainment too! At Christmas time, he would sit in his recliner and watch the magic of Christmas in the eyes of the grands and the melee of gift opening and their excitement. Through the grands, he got to continue his love for fishing, really untangling lines! He loved to watch them fish and the excitement that ensued with their catch. Always in the hopes he would eventually get to cast a line too. Gerry enjoyed cooking for his grandchildren too, carrying on his "World Famous" recipes.

The only thing that could match his love for Barb, his children, and grandchildren was his love for music and the big booms on the 4th of July...... even if it was one little bottle rocket!
