Gale D. Gastler

June 29, 1961 — April 6, 2022

Gale D. Gastler, of Defiance, MO, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at the age of 60.  Gale was born June 29, 1961, in Mexico, MO to Melvin L. Gastler and Ida Sue Gastler (nee Hays).  He is survived by his siblings, Beverley (Bill) Casey, Gary (Jackie) Gastler, John (Joy) Gastler, Kent (Pam) Gastler, Melanie Gastler, and Tiffany (John) Peery; and sister-in-law, Darla Gastler.  Gale was preceded in death by his father, Melvin and his brother, Carl Gastler.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gale was united in marriage to Shirley on November 22, 2002, and he proudly inherited two sons, Tyrell (Kacey) Mauck and Devin (Colleen) Mauck.  Gale found his true love and companion in Shirley, and they did everything together; well, except hunting.  He enjoyed taking on projects around the house, especially the ones Shirley found on Pinterest.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, and living life to the fullest, which included a tall, frosty Bud Light.  Gale always looked forward to family vacations every year, and he also made sure he never missed a Sunday fried chicken dinner.

As an outdoorsman, Gale loved hunting deer, elk, and wild boar, and went on numerous hunting adventures with many great friends.  He enjoyed gardening and growing popcorn.  When he wasn’t doing something outdoors, he liked to watch Big Foot and Bonanza.  Gale had a very easy-going spirit, and he just went with the flow.  He could also make you laugh with his occasional one-liners that everyone loved.

Gale was a skilled diesel mechanic, and he retired after more than 35 years of working with various farm implements, including Early’s in Northeast, MO, Allis Chalmers, Sydenstrickers in Rocheport and Moscow Mills.

Gale was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Memorial contributions may be made in Gale's name to National Park Foundation, Military Benefit Foundation or Backstoppers.

Baue Funeral Homes is currently following CDC recommendations regarding mask and social distancing policies.
