Gail M. Sykes

Gail Marie Sykes (nee Stephens), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the age of 70. Loving wife of Charles "Chuck" Sykes, Jr.; beloved daughter of the late Richard Stephens and Genalda Kyhl; devoted mother of Nicci (Josh) Shy, Brandon Sykes, and Jarred Sykes; cherished grandmother of CJ, Kenzi, Peyton, Aiden, Drew, Caedyn, and Addi; treasured great-grandmother of Lincoln; dear sister of Alan Stephens. Gail is also preceded in death by her daughter, Brittni Sykes; her siblings, Richard Stephens, Sam Stephens, and Tracy Kipper.

Gail shared a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion with her husband of 46 years. She was an avid sports fan who rarely missed a chance to cheer on the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues. More than anything, Gail treasured her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life.

Known for her quick wit, great sense of humor, and love of a good joke, Gail had a remarkable ability to make others smile. She was generous, compassionate, and always willing to lend a helping hand or offer thoughtful advice to anyone in need. Gail deeply cherished her nieces, nephews, and many friends, and her warm heart and genuine love for people left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Gail was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
