Fritz Haag, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Janet Haag; cherished son of the late Fred and Frieda Haag; devoted father of Chris M (Cheryl) Haag and Mitch D (Barbara) Haag; loving grandfather of Shannon R. (Kyle) Hamilton, Rachael C. (Josh) Opfer and the late Ryan Haag; treasured great-grandfather of Blake Louis-Matthew Opfer, Austin John Hamilton and Kaylee Ann Opfer; dear brother of Linda Irvin, the late Betty Beelek, the late Eleanor Daly, the late Jeanne Wirt and the late Willie Haag; brother-in-law of Cathy (Paul) Dickey and Karen (Bob) Treiber; loving step-grandfather and step-great-grandfather, uncle, neighbor and dear friend to many.
Fritz was truly one of a kind—a hardworking “worker bee” who devoted his life to helping others. He was always ready to lend a hand, whether assisting neighbors or supporting his family, and his greatest joy came from caring for those around him. Fritz was deeply devoted to his loved ones and took pride in doing things the right way. He was an active member of the VA, generously giving his time to drive the bus for his fellow veterans. Fritz worked for Consolidated Freightways for 35 years, as their maintenance manager, and was a proud member of Teamsters 618. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed the peacefulness of the water as much as the camaraderie it brought. Fritz especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often driving them—and many others—wherever they needed to go. Always dependable, he never hesitated to help anyone in need. Fritz was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Fritz's name to Veterans Association, Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
