Frances Ann “Fran” (Shadley) Faherty, 80, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026. Born on March 21, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, Fran lived a life filled with love, laughter, creativity, and devotion to her family.
Fran was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and was known for her many talents. An accomplished gardener, crocheter, quilter, and pie maker, she lovingly shared her gifts with family and friends. She also enjoyed relaxing with a Miller Lite and spending time with those she loved most.
Those who knew Fran will remember her for her quick wit, thoughtful nature, magnetic personality, and remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her warmth, humor, and generosity left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Fran is survived by her devoted husband, William Wallace Faherty III; her sister, Christina (Michael) Rademeyer; her daughter, Dawn (Don) Baldwin; and her son, William (Kate) Faherty IV. She was a proud grandmother to Brianna (Ilya) Leventas, Cali (James) Selzer, Grace Faherty, William Faherty V, Benjamin (Alexis) Faherty, and Luke Faherty. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Isabel Gay and Luka Leventas.
She is further survived by her nieces, Kathy Eldridge, Kara Schlechta Wiggins, and Kim Schlechta, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Claire Schlechta and Delores Eldridge.
Her family will forever cherish the memories she created, the traditions she passed down, and the love she gave so freely. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through the family she adored and the countless lives she touched.
