Evalene Ward

Evalene Ward (nee: Thornton), of O'Fallon, Missouri, slipped away quietly at home with family by her side on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the age of 95. Loving wife of the late Bernis Ward; dear daughter of the late Lou and Florence Thornton; devoted mother of Shirley Krome; cherished grandmother of Cathy (Steve) Anderson, Cindy Wolff, and Karen (Bob) Barron; treasured great-grandmother of Christopher (Brianna) Barron, Nicki (Chris) Scharnhorst, Adam Wolff, and Michele Wolff; and beloved great-great grandmother of Carter, Ava, and Parker. She is preceded in death by her sister Carlene Dortch.
Evalene was an aunt, cousin, and friend to many. She is fondly remembered and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Evalene was a hairdresser for many years, and an inspector at Bussmann Fuse before she retired. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Beacon Chapter, long time T.O.P.S member, and enjoyed baking so much she was known as the "Pie Lady" at church. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
