Eugenia May Wetzel

Eugenia May Wetzel (nee McClendon), of Saint Louis, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Lee Adolph Wetzel; cherished daughter of the late Vennie and Eura McClendon; devoted mother of Christy (Joshua Wilson) Wetzel; loving grandmother of Eli Wilson and Clara Wilson; dear sister of Shirma (Paul) Laughlin, Harold (Connie) McClendon, the late Mildred Walters, the late Clyde McClendon, and the late Dickie McClendon.

Eugenia was a devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, MO, where she was active in the Women’s Group and served as treasurer. She enjoyed sewing as her main hobby and generously shared her talents by volunteering at Southeast Missouri Hospital, where she made outfits for newborns, Christmas stockings, and colorful pillowcases for children. Eugenia was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Eugenia's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
