Eugene "Gene" Pfitzinger

Eugene “Gene” Pfitzinger, of Columbia, MO, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at the age of 93. Cherished son of the late George and Anna “Marie” Pfitzinger; devoted father of Elda Pfitzinger, Eva (Don) Bickmeyer and Eric (Mary) Pfitzinger; loving grandfather of Caroline Thomas, Jesse Pfitzinger, Lukas Pfitzinger, Aughust Pfitzinger and Gunnar Pfitzinger; dear brother of Dorothy Breite and the late Norman Pfitzinger.

Gene proudly and honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member the 5th R.C.T. Association, a member of Post 0312 American Legion for 69 years and a life member of the VFW Post 2866.

Gene grew up on a farm in Berkeley, MO and then transitioned to owning a business. In his free time he enjoyed flying personal planes, being outdoors and hunting. Gene never turned down a buffet, especially Golden Corral.

Gene was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Eugene's name to Volunteer Services at Harry S. Truman VA Hospital.
