Simon, Ethel Anne of Portage Des Sioux, Missouri, died on October 16, 2010 at the age of 92. Loving wife of the late John F. Simon; beloved daughter of the late William and Marie Eilers; devoted mother of Daniel (Sharon) Simon of St. Charles, MO, Mary Ann (Charlie) Vehige of Foristell, MO, Richard (Evelyn) Simon of Portage Des Sioux, MO, Carol (Allen) Boschert of St. Paul, MO, Jane (Dennis) Wappelhorst of St. Charles, MO, Margaret (Dave) Buse of San Carlos, CA, Joanne (Gary) Bruer of St. Charles, MO, Theresa (Mark) Boettler of St. Peters, MO, Betty (Steve) Oetker of Columbia, MO, John J. (Renee) Simon of Portage Des Sioux, MO. Cherished grandmother of 44 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; dear sister of Charles Eilers, Ruth Orf, and June Dickbernd. Ethel was a beloved sister in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She is preceded in death by her son Thomas Simon, grandson Michael Simon, great-granddaughter Maggie Boschert, sister Helen Bextermueller, and brother William Eilers. Ethel was a long time member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She and her husband John owned Simon Soil Service. She was also a member of St. Anne Sodality, was a Red Cross volunteer, and treasurer of St. Francis Vincent de Paul Society. Ethel enjoyed traveling, sewing and volunteering as a sacristan at St. Francis Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duchesne High School, St. Francis Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Elizabeth/St. John The Baptist Church or charity of choice.
