Eric Cantley

September 24, 1959 — March 30, 2026

O'Fallon

Eric Cantley; follower of Christ, husband of Jan since 1984, father to Erica and Micah, and grandfather to Landon, Bryce, Jordyn, Liam, Scarlett, Bentley, and Aiden; left his earthly home on Monday, March 30th and entered into his eternal home in heaven.

"Devoted" and "entertaining" describe Eric Perfectly. He put his whole heart into joyfully serving others...his family, his church, his community, his workplace...he was a friend to all. Eric infused fun into most all situations. He intentionally engaged with people, putting them at ease and loving on them.

Eric loved and served his family well. From spending time on adventures with Jan to supporting kids and grandkids in their sports and activities, Eric was their number one cheerleader and supporter.

Eric supported others and encouraged them in their walk with the Lord. In his church, he worked with countless youth over the years. He was ordained as a deacon 42 years ago, taking the responsibility of leadership very seriously. He taught Sunday School classes for various age groups. He served in many more capacities demonstrating a genuine servant's heart.

Eric's career as an architect brought him great fulfillment at various firms throughout the years. He retired in September 2024 and more fully enjoyed his personal interests...kayaking, hiking, participating in sporting clays and biking.

Eric is survived by his wife, Jan; his daughter, Erica Kerr, and son-in-law, Josh; his son, Micah, and daughter-in-law, Emily; seven grandchildren; his father, Clyde Cantley; his sister, Cindi Boyer and brother-in-law, Mitch; his brother, Fred Cantley; and many nieces and nephews.

Eric is preceded in death by his mother, Nora Cantley.
