Elizabeth A. McGuire

January 2, 1951 — February 23, 2016

Elizabeth A. (Meyer) McGuire, age 65, passed away February 23rd, 2016 at her home in St. Charles, Missouri after bravely battling pancreatic cancer for seven months. She was born January 2nd, 1951, daughter of Velmer Meyer and Vila (Strahm) Meyer of Sabetha, Kansas. She was one of five children born to this union.

Her love and passion were her children and grandchildren. She has devoted her life to supporting them in every endeavor, providing a loving and supportive home, experiencing joy in their successes, and being a fun-loving and involved grandmother. During the challenges in the years raising her children, she would rely on her faith and positive attitude to get them through. In spite of the hardships in her life, she has always been an unwavering beacon of hope, strength, love, courage and compassion to everyone around her.  Beth's home and heart were always open to children and friends in need. She was known as "mom" and "grandma" to many.

Beth retired from Southwestern Bell/AT&T in 2003 after 34 years of service. After retirement she worked in various temporary positions as she enjoyed constantly meeting new people and staying busy.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents Vila and Velmer Meyer. She is survived by her stepdaughter Laura Hanna (husband Mike) of Vassar, Kansas; and her five children: Shawn Herold of Martinsburg, WV; Tara Hartter (husband Brian) of Sabetha, KS; Andrea Otto (husband Randy) of Fenton, MO; Amanda Stahlschmidt (husband Jake) of St. Peters, MO; and Adam Herold of St. Charles, MO; and 15 grandchildren (with another expected in August); sister Elaine Garber of Sabetha, KS; and three brothers, Delwin Meyer and Brent Meyer of Sabetha, KS and Daryl Meyer of Fort Worth, TX.

Memorial services will be held at Baue Funeral Home on West Clay in St. Charles, MO on Sunday, February 28th at 2pm. Visitation will be from 12 to 2pm also at Baue Funeral Home.
