Elesha R. Winschel

March 18, 1986 — September 5, 2022

St. Louis

Elesha Rose Winschel passed away peacefully on September 5, 2022 after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.  Our beautiful mother, wife, daughter, and best friend will be greatly missed forever.

Elesha was born to Robert and Lisa Winschel on March 18, 1986 in St. Louis, MO.  She attended St. Norbert Catholic grade school.  After graduating from Incarnate Word Academy, Elesha continued her education at St. Louis Community College for Nursing.

Nursing was her calling.  She worked hard to serve her patients with dignity, respect and true compassion – all while having fun with her friends and peers at DePaul Hospital.  Her stories, experiences, and funniness would keep us all heartened and entertained from week to week.

Elesha loved life.  She loved to chat and laugh constantly with friends and family.  She loved to travel and share new experiences.  She and Joe were constantly and closely on the move together during their 15+ year relationship, always visiting one of their favorite places while taking in the big game, favorite concert, new resort, or memorable event.

Their strong love and connection resulted in being blessed with the most beautiful son one could ask for in this life, Cameron James.  Elesha was a fantastic mother who cherished every moment reading, laughing, dancing and being silly with her boy.  Of all the things she did and accomplished, Elesha loved nothing more than “just hanging with her boys” - Cameron, Joe and Oliver.

Elesha fought hard with unimaginable strength and determination to stay alive for her little family.  We will forever remember her for that strength and love as this special gift, that only she could give, will be passed on to Cameron and all of us for generations to come.  Elesha’s strength and love won, not cancer.

Elesha is survived by her son Cameron James and husband Joseph Anatra; daughter to Robert and Lisa Winschel; siblings Bobby, Erin and Drew Winschel, Emily (Jeremy) Schaffner; amazing Aunt E to Quinn, Kinsley and Kollyns Schaffner; granddaughter to the late Kenny / Rose Winschel and Rose Merkel Foshage and the late Donald Foshage; loving aunts, uncles, cousins and best friends.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Elesha’s beautiful life on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at All Saints Church, 7 McMenamy Rd, St Peters, MO 63376.  Please join us for visitation at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.
