Eleanor Marie Roloff

August 11, 1934 — September 26, 2024

O'Fallon, Missouri

Eleanor Marie Roloff (nee Rothermich), of O'Fallon, MO, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 26, 2024, in Lake St. Louis, MO, at the age of 90, surrounded by her daughters and grandsons. Loving wife of the late Harry Lee Roloff; beloved daughter of the late Victor Joseph and Mina Ellen (Hale) Rothermich; devoted mother of Nancy (Kim) Dille, Karen (Tom) Biehl, Paula (Mike) Mobley; cherished grandmother of Ben Biehl, Sam Biehl, and Jacob Biehl; sister-in law Alice Rothermich and cousins Frances Hardwick, Garnette Hale, and Alice Wolf who were like sisters to her; beloved aunt and friend to many. Eleanor is also preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Rothermich and her infant sons Michael and James Roloff.

Eleanor was born and raised in a farmhouse in St. Charles, MO. As a child, she enjoyed bike riding, drawing, and roller skating. It was her love of roller skating, where she met the love of her life, Harry, at the St. Charles Roller Rink. They married on June 28, 1958, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, St. Charles, MO. Later they settled in O'Fallon, MO and shared 59 wonderful years together. Their union was blessed with 3 beautiful daughters, sons-in-law, and 3 grandsons. Eleanor had a passion for oil painting. She loved sewing doll clothes and participating in craft shows. She was a gifted piano player and shared that love by teaching her children and grandchildren to play piano. Eleanor had many friends and made numerous friends over the years, most recently at the Abbey Senior Residence in O'Fallon, MO and Oak Pointe Assisted Living in Warrenton, MO. She was a big fan of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Kansas City Chiefs...and fried chicken.

To Eleanor, being Catholic was everything. She was a devoted member of Assumption Catholic Church, O'Fallon, MO for many, many years. She had a special devotion to the Virgin Mother Mary and prayed the rosary every night. She wore the scapular at all times. Eleanor was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.

Memorials may be made in Eleanor's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or by Masses said in her honor.
