Eleanor (Ellie) Barbara Jensen – Mack, a beloved figure of Lake St. Louis, MO., sadly left our world on May 15, 2025, at the age of 96. The guiding light for Ellie throughout her life would be an absolute commitment to Christian beliefs. A strong belief in Jesus as the Son of God would help her through trials and tribulations. Her role as a provider, caretaker, and volunteer, would fulfill the belief of one's purpose in a Christian life.
At an early age Ellie had five years of piano lessons. Her love of music would be a central theme throughout her life as she shared her gifted musical talent with the world. In high school she played piano with a Big Band, which was the music of her era. She would continue singing in the choirs of St. Richard's and Immaculate Conception Churches. She auditioned for 20 years to be a singer in the St. Louis Symphony Choir. She loved to perform in many of the productions for the choir. Music gave her the opportunity to explore the world. She traveled with the choir and even had the honor of performing in New York at Carnegie Hall.
Ellie's commitment to be being a provider for her family expanded throughout the years. Her high school courses in Omaha, Nebraska taught her the skills to work as a secretary and bookkeeper for St. Richard's Church. She would also be a claims adjuster for an insurance company, work for the special school district and other companies using her business and accounting skills. This stage of her life was a busy time, juggling work and taking care of teenagers and young children.
Ellie was an exemplar model for doing volunteer work in churches and being an education assistant for Wentzville Public Schools. She also gave ger time to Catholic Charities by helping foster six babies until they found their forever homes. Her caretaking would include caring for her aging mother, husband and many friends along the way.
One of her many talents and creativity included being a grand cook. Everyone looked forward to holidays at her home filled with amazing food and the best baked goods. She also was an excellent seamstress and made many clothes and costumes for her children and grandchildren throughout the years. Her attention to details and decorations was always shown in her food, baking and finished clothes.
Ellie's industrious, creative, and diligent worth ethics are something to admire. Her exhilaration for life came from her devotion to God. Ellie will be greatly missed by her family, friends and community. Eleanor Barbara Jensen – Mack, a Christian life well lived.
