Elaine F. Howard (nee Wachter), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence P. Howard; cherished daughter of the late Frank R. and Donna Lee Wachter; devoted mother of Tammy (Steven) Jones, Kelli (Jeff) Henry, and the late Michael (Darlene) McCarthy; loving grandmother of Kyle (Monica), Kurt (Leah), Karley (Nick), Michael (the late Dana), Christina (Jake), Casey (Ashley), Shelby (Caleb), and Jorgi (Jake), and great-grandmother of eighteen great-grandchildren; dear sister Frank (Judy) Wachter; precious aunt and friend.
Elaine was a devoted member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for 25 years and was also an active member of the Ladies Guild. She was an avid golfer and bowler who especially loved spending time with her family. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Elaine's name to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church Ladies Guild.

The family will meet at JBNC staging area located on the upper lot of the Sylvan Springs Parking lot across from JBNC at 10:45am. Once everyone has gathered we will process to JBNC for the graveside service at 11am.
