Edward Richmond

Edward Allen Richmond, age 72, of O'Fallon, MO passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025. He was born in Alton, Illinois on August 13, 1953, to Edward LeRoy and Viola (née Thomae) Richmond.

Ed is survived by his wife Carol, daughters Sarah (Mark) Hamilton and Rachel Richmond. Ed was the best husband and father to his family. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother, Jeff.

Visitation will be at Assumption Catholic Church, O'Fallon, MO at 9:30 am, Friday, August 22, 2025, with a funeral Mass immediately following at 10:30 am. Internment to follow at Our Lady Cemetery, 8701 Orf Rd., Lake St. Louis, Mo. In lieu of flowers donations to the Salvation Army or The American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

A great problem solver, calm and focused, Ed was known to be always available to anyone needing help. With his wife he hosted Thanksgiving in his home for over 25 years. They were a great team. Ed loved his daughters more than anything. He also loved the many dogs who were part of the family over the years.

Ed was very talented. He played drums and guitar and sang and wrote songs. From a very humble beginning in Jennings, MO he worked minimum wage jobs and put himself through college. While working full time, he completed a BS, MS, and MBA. He continued to strive to learn and earned many certificates needed in his field, working for Honeywell and later IT giants Oracle and Salesforce. For over 30 years his job required trips to projects in cities all over the US. Ed never missed coming home to his girls every weekend and never missed a dance or piano recital. He was a real road warrior.

Ed had many other interests and expertise in a wide variety of areas, from home and auto repairs to accounting and computer systems and project management. He was very humble, hardworking, loving and generous with his time and money.
