Edward A. Kullman

October 3, 1931 — October 6, 2022

O'Fallon, Missouri

Kullman, Edward August, born October 3, 1931, passed away October 6, 2022, at the age of 91 surrounded by his loved ones.

Ed was the beloved husband of Gladys Post for 67 years.

Their love of God was evident and passed on to their 10 children and the generations that will follow: Al (Olga), Angela (Don) Meyer, the late Paul (Wanda), Jerry (Sharon), Mary (Chris) Wooters, Julie (John) Kaufmann, Melanie (Jerry) Hindes, John (Jill), Carolyn (Keith) Hawkins, and Michael. Grandfather to 19 and great grandfather to 10.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August P Kullman and Gabriel Tourigny Kullman.

He is survived by his sisters Dorothy Tighe and Mary Lou Steinwachs and by brothers Guy Kullman, Robert (Nancy) Kullman, and Thomas Kullman. His brothers Glennon and James, and his sister, Ann, preceded him in death.

Ed will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Ed had a career with IBM for 30 years at a time when technology was being introduced to the world and was instrumental in developing the technological devices and conveniences we enjoy today. He worked on computers that would fill a large room.

Ed was always fixing or building something. He made a stereo and built his own first color TV. He even built a kit car; a Bradley GT2. He added a family room and garage to their original home and then 2 additional bedrooms.

Ed served in the Air Force for four years during the Korean War. He set up radio towers in Greenland and was able to travel to many parts of the world.

For over 50 years, Ed and Gladys enjoyed being at their property outside of Wright City. There they built a log cabin and enjoyed nature. Their love of the outdoors led them to turn their property into a Conservation Easement, ensuring the land would be preserved for years to come.

Woodworking became an important hobby after retirement. He used his skills to make beds, cabinets, tables, chairs, clocks, toys and many other beautiful pieces and gifts.
