Edward “Ed” Ray Gray, Jr. of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Alma Kathryn Gray; cherished son of the late Edward Ray Gray, Sr. and the late Frances Jean Gray; devoted father of Martha (Gregory) Wolf and Carrie (Travis) Ginchereau; step-father of Ericka McBride; loving grandfather of Reese, Parker, Devon and Kylei; step-grandfather of Erick and Jasmine; treasured step-great-grandfather of Schuyler, Symone; dear brother of Beverly Mayo; uncle of Geoffrey Thacker and Myles Mayo.
Ed was an Army veteran, serving in the 101st Airbourne as a helicopter supply technician in Vietnam. He enjoyed playing board games, as well as Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer. A fan of fantasy and comic books, he rarely missed the opportunity to see the latest movies. Ed was also a member of the St. Louis Jazz Club, an activity he enjoyed with his wife.
Ed was also a talented artist who loved to paint. He often created and painted his own characters for use in his tabletop games, combining his creativity with his passion for storytelling and gaming.
He loved to travel and cherished spending time with his family. A devoted history enthusiast, Ed enjoyed visiting historic battlefields and attending reenactments with his loved ones.
Ed was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Ed's name to American Cancer Society and Wounded Warriors Project.
