Duane Wilkinson, 94, St. Charles, Missouri passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 21, 1932, in Berryton, Kansas, Duane was the beloved son of Mildred and Clinton “Mike” Wilkinson. He attended Topeka High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War, from January 1950 to August 1953. Following his service, he attended Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, where he earned a degree in Business. While working for the Kansas State Highway Department, he met the love of his life, Maurine Kay Moore, and the two were united in marriage on August 14, 1955.
He will be remembered as a man who loved his family and dedicated his life to their happiness. He had an amazing sense of humor, was kind and gentle, steadfast in his faith, and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a little league coach, scout master, and he loved to fish and spend time at the farm. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Duane lived a life devoted to his family and is survived by four children and their spouses: Linda Faily (Rasool) of OKC, Oklahoma, Mike Wilkinson (Trish) of Champaign, Illinois, Lisa Watson (Jon) of Wentzville, Missouri, Todd Wilkinson (Lisa) of Eureka, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Amber, Jesse, Clay, Sara, Brennen, Ashley, Emily, Sean, Jacob, Tyler, Lauren, and Morgan, and sixteen great-grandchildren: Lilah, Kahlen, Coy, Kinley, Harper, Emersyn, Olivia, Kaidence, Kyler, Elsie, Adalynn, Arlo, Everette, Hayden, Henry and Hudson. Preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Clinton Wilkinson, siblings Dorthy Schoenick, and Phyllis Hoffman, son Greg Wilkinson, granddaughter, Monica Wilkinson, and grandson Nick Watson.
