Drew Michael Moore, age 82 passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025. He was born in St Louis, Missouri to the late, Andrew and Melba Moore.
His early childhood years were filled with music and dance. He performed on stage and radio into his teens, mostly in the St. Louis area, becoming a local celebrity. His love of music stayed with him throughout his life as he watched movie musicals over and over, and listened to the “big band sound” as well as 50’s music.
Drew graduated in 1961 from Jennings High School in St. Louis. There he was on the track and tennis teams, earning a state ranking in tennis. He also performed in school plays. From his early performing earnings, he purchased his first car while in high school—a Corvette convertible. This began a lifelong love of Corvettes, of which over the years, he owned seven!
In December 1963 Drew joined the U.S. Army. He proudly served as a member of The Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery during the Viet Nam era and was an Honor Guard at President Kennedy’s grave. He was Honorably discharged in 1966.
The majority of Drew’s work career was spent in children’s shoe sales. He began as a sales representative at Brown Shoe Company and spent 18 years with Brown, ending his career in management. He subsequently joined StrideRite children’s shoe division from which he retired. Following retirement, he took great pleasure traveling the country with his wife, Linda, in their RV and volunteering with Methodist NOMADS doing disaster relief rebuilding.
Besides music, Corvettes, and family, Drew loved plants and gardening, He grew orchids and propagated flowering tropical plants like Plumeria and Hibiscus. As much as he loved growing flowering plants, he loved giving some of them away even more. He also planted and tended vegetable gardens and truly loved to mow the grass!
Drew was a member of Legacy House church in St. Johns, Florida.
Drew is survived by his loving wife, Linda Miller Moore ; sons: Timothy Moore and Matthew Moore; daughters: Jami Nanney and Jill Badalamenti ; step son: Kyle Harth ; sisters: Patricia Boulch , Kathleen Hanebrink (David) , and Kim O’Guin (Jeff); grandchildren: Collin Moore, Lucas Moore, Wyatt Moore, Anthony Badalamenti, Sophia Badalamenti, Joseph Badalamenti, and Adelaide Nanney; Godsons: Scott Boulch, and Ryan Winn as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended families, and friends.
