Doug Crites

Douglas Wayne Crites, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Sharon Crites; cherished son of Wendell and Beatrice Crites; devoted father of Julie Crites-Woods, Angie (Kevin) Grapperhaus and Lori LaBarbera; loving grandfather of Peyton Woods, Hudson Woods, and Adam Grapperhaus; dear brother of Gary (Sue) Crites and Greg (Kim) Crites.

Douglas was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and a dedicated member of VFW Post 5077. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and for more than 20 years he joyfully served as a member of the praise band at Sunrise Church. Doug had a servant's heart and found great fulfillment in participating in mission trips to Honduras, Joplin, and the Appalachian region, always eager to lend a helping hand wherever he was needed. Gifted with his hands, he built countless projects for family, friends, and others in his community. He also enjoyed reading, especially studying the Bible, and treasured the wisdom and encouragement it brought to his life. Above all, Doug loved his family fiercely and cherished every moment spent with them. His unwavering faith, generous spirit, and selfless kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Doug was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Douglas's name to Tunnel to Towers.
