Dorothy Loraine Clinkingbeard, 71, St. Peters, Missouri, died just before 2pm Sunday, January 21, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born September 30, 1946, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Clarence and Margaret Dower.
She married Terry A. Clinkingbeard August 25, 1967, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother Eugene Butz Jr,. She is survived by her husband, Terry, son and his wife, Jeffrey and Denise Clinkingbeard, daughter and her husband, Benjamin and Laura Hawkins, grandsons, Ryan Clinkingbeard, Logan Hawkins, and Beau Hawkins, sisters and their husbands Wallace and Melba Casper, and Thomas and Johanna Sutterfield, and other relatives and many friends.
Dorothy retired in 2005 from Barnes Jewish St Peters Hospital (BJSPH) after a long career as a secretary and office assistant. She continued working part time as a per diem employee until 2015. She remained active in the BJSPH Auxiliary and volunteer work until just before her passing.
Dorothy’s cremains will be placed in a Columbarium Niche at Baue’s St Charles Memorial Gardens, 3950 West Clay, St Charles, Missouri 63301. A short interment service will be held at the niche on September 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm (casual, respectful attire please). In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness or the BJSPH Auxiliary.
